About Permanent Roofline & Architectural Linear Lighting
Permanent roofline lighting is a run of individually controllable light points fitted along the rooflines and architectural lines of a building. It is installed once. From then on the building can be lit in white or in color, with scenes that are scheduled in advance and changed when needed.
It is often described as permanent holiday lighting, and it does that well. We see it as something larger: architectural lighting that gives a building a presence at night and lets that presence change with the calendar.
For businesses and commercial properties
For restaurants, bars, dealerships, hotels, retail, office buildings and clubhouses, permanent architectural lighting can become part of the property’s nighttime identity. It can reinforce brand colors, increase nighttime visibility, create visual interest and curiosity, change for holidays and events, and run scheduled scenes throughout the year.
We do not make claims about what lighting will do for sales. The idea is simpler: lighting can help a property become more visible, recognizable and memorable after dark.
For municipalities and communities
For municipal buildings and public spaces, HOAs, clubhouses and community entrances, scenes can be scheduled for holidays and civic events without repeatedly installing and removing temporary lighting. The calendar is set up ahead of time and the building or entrance changes with it.
For homes
On a residence, a permanent roofline system can run as a quiet architectural accent and change for holidays, game days and occasions. It should be designed with the landscape lighting below it so the two read as one composition, and restraint matters: not every edge of a roof should carry light.
Color across the property
Some manufacturers of permanent roofline systems also offer compatible landscape fixtures that operate through the same ecosystem and app. That lets roofline and landscape lighting be coordinated for holidays, events, entertaining and team colors, while the landscape runs on appropriate everyday lighting the rest of the year. Where that is the goal, it is worth designing for from the start.
